Principato di Lucedio cultivate an impressive range of premium rice in Piedmont, Italy.

Principato di Lucedio farms 1250 acres in Trino located at the heart of the Italian rice growing region of Piedmont. Set within a regional National Park, Lucedio grow and harvest premium quality rice with varieties from the more mainstream Carnaroli and Arborio to lesser-known Vialone Nano as well as the highly specialist Black Venus, Red rice and Wild rice. The rice is cultivated using sensitive, natural techniques with low environmental impact and is packaged in a controlled atmosphere on site to guarantee freshness and flavour. There is no extra processing and no preservatives are used resulting in a very pure and natural superior quality ingredient.

The Abbey of Lucedio introduced the growing of rice to Italy in 1400AD and rice has been cultivated here ever since. The estate came into the hands of the current owners in 1937 and has been passed from father to daughter as they continue the proud traditions of growing and harvesting premium rice. The Abbey is open to the public and as well as visiting the historic halls and cloisters, visitors can see the processes and techniques used to produce the world famous rice and taste local specialities such as risotto.

Today Principato di Lucedio have a product range that includes pasta, breadsticks, biscuits and sweets all made from rice flour. However it is with their spectacular range showcasing the best of so many rice varieties that this traditional company continues to delight connoisseurs all over Italy and the world.
